This National Nursing Assistants week, we are recognizing team members who are at the heart of CLC communities. Bringing their energy and passion to the communities they serve, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are integral to creating communities where aging is honored and celebrated.

CNAs are true partners in care, providing customized care through a holistic approach that focuses on social, intellectual, physical, purposeful, and spiritual well-being for each resident. At CLC communities, CNAs are not only dedicated to providing individualized care, but they also form meaningful relationships with residents and their families and offer steadfast companionship.

Supporting Nursing Career Growth through the Scholarship Program

For CNAs who are working toward goals of growing within the nursing field and deepening their practice, one of the more significant ways that CLC supports their professional development is through scholarships.

One of CLC’s most recent scholarship recipients is a Certified Nursing Assistants who is pursuing her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) licenses. Alice Bomboma, a CNA at Holly Creek, says, “I love what I do and put all my passion into it. With the LPN certificate, I will be able to continue helping residents that are in long-term care.”

Having worked with CLC for almost eight years, it is clear that Alice is committed to her career and community. “She is compassionate and always going the extra mile to get to know the residents, families, and others she works with,” says Mikaela Craig, Assisted Living Director at Holly Creek. “You often hear residents and families speaking highly about the care Alice provides, you can tell it really comes from her heart.”

Certified Nursing Assistants exemplify what it means to provide quality care with dignity and respect, in partnership with the residents who call CLC communities home. They live our mission every day, and we are proud to offer scholarships to team members who are interested in furthering their education. Thanks to the generous contributions of CLC donors, eligible associates can receive up to $6,500 in tuition assistance to develop their careers and pursue their career goals.

This Nursing Assistants Week – and every week – we are grateful for all the CNAs who model compassion and professionalism as they provide quality care to residents and their family members. Thank you for your invaluable contributions to your communities!
