Recognizing the impact of pandemic-related challenges on our mental and emotional well-being, CLC-Cappella is collaborating with Colorado Spirit team to offer the “Together We! Thrive” six-part video support series. For most of us, this past year has challenged us with many losses – both loss of life and loss of daily rituals and routines. As we approach the anniversary of the pandemic lockdown, we encourage you to allow yourself time to feel, process and grieve the losses you and your community have experienced. Last week, Chaplain Jim Kok and Chaplain Brian Bortz shared how grief hits us like waves of the ocean, some waves we can handle and others may knock us down. The Chaplains shared how social connections, laughter and joy are examples of healthy strategies to address the waves of grief we may experience.

Haley Sanner is the Older Adult Specialist at Lutheran Family Services of the Rocky Mountains. With expertise in social determinants of health, specifically social isolation and loneliness, Haley is passionate about multigenerational programming that connects people in more equitable, sustainable and communal ways across generations. She loves to spark conversation, listen to people’s stories, and find new creative ways to engage together despite the challenges of the pandemic.
